MEMBERS IN ACTION

Rallynuts Stages (15th April): the second round of the BTRDA took plce in mid Wales, on classic stages from the old WRGB days such as Myherin and Hafren. Following their win on Rd1, it was another great result for Jamie Edwards and driver Arron Newby, who finished 1st overall again. Robert Proudlock made his first trip to Wales with his Opel Adam R2, finishing 25th overall and 1st R2 with Steven Brown alongside.

Altratech Stages (16th April): Andy Scott and Laura Connell travelled to Anglesey Circuit for the Altratech Stages, an event they had won last year. They had been running as high as 3rd overall in their Ford Fiesta S2000 Turbo, but a Jump Start penalty on SS6 dropped them down to finish 6th at the end of the 46-mile tarmac single venue.

Speyside Stages (21/22 April): it was another trip to the far north for second round of the KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship, with the organisers of the Elgin-based Speyside Stages celebrating its 25th Anniversary by running two short night stages on the Friday evening ahead of the usual day of action on Saturday.

Jock Armstrong and co-driver Hannah McKillop Davison had to settle for 2nd in their Subaru Impreza, finishing half a minute behind the winner. Drew Sturrock and driver Hugh Brunton took their Škoda Fabia Rally2 to 6th overall, with the Proton Satria Evo of Mark McCulloch & Michael Hendry just behind in 7th. Iain Wilson & Chris Williams rounded off the top 10 in the Ford Fiesta Rally2.

Angus Lawrie & Paul Gribben were 12th in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9, just head of Peter Stewart & Harry Marchbank who were the top 2wd finishers in 15th in their Peugeot 208 Rally4, just 3-seconds ahead of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 of The Captain Scott Peacock, he and Craig Wallace really starting to get to grips with the powerful 4wd machine.

Robert Proudlock & Steven Brown took the Open Adam R2 to 21st overall and 1st in class M2, ahead of The Sloan brothers Scott & David finished 2nd in M2 in their Peugeot 208 R2.

Just outside the top 30, Donald Peacock & Mairi Riddick were clearly enjoying themselves in the historic-spec Ford Escort Mk II, taking the class win in H2, with Richard Stewart & Carin Tait-Logan finishing 44th in their Peugeot 208 Rally4.

The stage called Gartly Moor is a favourite with competitors, but this time it claimed two cars, with David Hardie & John McCulloch retiring the Ford Escort Mk II with head gasket issues, and the Subaru Impreza of Jan Budge & Bruce Lindsay stopping with engine issues on the same stage.

WRC Rally Croatia (28th – 30th April): On their first outing in the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 on tarmac, Oliver Solberg and Elliot Edmondson finished 10th overall and 3rd in class, managing the snatch the final podium position on the final stage of the event by just 2.1secsonds in over 3-hours of competition.

Rainworth Group Stages (30th April): With just one stage to go, it was disappointment for Alan Edwards, co-driving for Andrew Watson at the third round of the North of England Tarmac Championship at DST Leconfield in East Yorskhire, when the steering broke on their Mini Cooper One on SS4.
