Event Report

Our fifth Grass Autotest of the year took place on Sunday 21st August, with a good turnout of 19 entries at our first event at The Fell in a few years, with the kind permission of the Marshall family.

Class 1 (under 1400cc FWD): 2021 Champion Rab Henderson was again victorious in the MG, ahead of the Nissan Sunny of Grant Carson, with Jake Henderson in 3rd. Niall Cowan Jnr brought the Rover home in 4th, ahead of the Nissan Sunny trio of Aaran Ferguson, Peter Game and Jack Gaffney. Elaine Murdoch was 8th in the family MG, just ahead of Hal Renwick and Craig Smith in the shared Ford KA, with the Rover of Ashley Thomson rounding off the class.

Class 2 (over 1400cc FWD): The Nissan Micras of McCarney and Dickson resumed battle, with Thomas McCarney taking the class win ahead of Richard Dickson. Karen McCarney was 3rd in class just ahead of Nancy Dickson (4th), with the Ford Puma of Jack Houston (5th) and Alan McMorran (6th) finishing ahead of the Suzuki of visiting Machars members Oliver Galloway and Kerr Brook.

Well done to our winner, Rab Henderson, finishing just 0.99 seconds ahead of Thomas McCarney (who was also first Senior), and Richard Dickson, with Karen McCarney taking 4th & first Lady. Niall Cowan Jnr was Top Novice.
