12 Car Rally Classes
We aim to organise six 12 Car Rallies every season – three in February/March, and three in November/December.
The idea of a 12 Car Rally is to work out the clues using the Ordnance Survey map, which will take you from one Control to the next, by losing as little time as possible. An average 12 Car Rally would have between 10-15 Controls, and take approximately 2 hours.
There are three different classes, for all levels of competitor.
Expert
You’re on your own, and the only way of making it to all of the Controls is by working out the clues, with no additional help.
Semi-Expert
You are given half of the Control grid references (usually every other one) and sometimes an organiser may also give help with certain clues.
Novice
You are given all of the Control grid references and sometimes an organiser may also give help with certain clues. (You are given the Control grid references 15 minutes before your start time in the 12 Car Rally to hopefully give you time to plot them all – or as many as possible! – before the event starts.)
