Auchengassel Grass autotest Class Results 7th May 2017

The first grass autotest of the year. Thanks to the Graham family for the use of this venue.

With 37 entries, including 8 new junior competitors taking part in the First Steps Motorsport scheme. This is a Young Engineer initiative incorporating school children from Both Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas High Schools curtsey of Jas P Wilson Forestry Machines. Congratulations to all involved on your first event, we hope to welcome you back again on our next meeting.

6 runs took place in the scorching heat, which resulted in plenty of dust and fast competition. Two buggies were competing in Class 5 and by the end of the day Wul Johnstone took a commanding win over Iain Wilson after some late vehicle troubles. Tony Kerr finished in third.

In Class 2 Scott Peacock took the spoils with a 2s advantage over Richard Dickson and after missing the last test dues to his son breaking a drive shaft and doing some radiator, Roger Alcorn came home third.

Class 1 was a close faught battle all day long. With only 2s separating the top three places. Grant Carson being third after a late cone penalty. Keith Riddick was second and Jack Houston was the Class victor and First Senior Competitor (yes he is over 55) in his newly acquired MG ZR.

Overall, Richard Dickson was third, Will Johnston came home second and Scott Peacock took the win.

First Lady was Ruth Peacock after a close battle throughout the day with Nancy Dickson.

Top Junior Boy was the ever impressive Douglas MacGregor, and top junior girl was Grace Orr.
