MEMBERS IN ACTION
Kingdom Stages (5th November): Crail Airfield on the Fife coast was the venue for the final round of the Scottish Tarmack Rally Championship. Joe McKeand & Ryan McMichael finished a great 4th Overall in the Subaru Impreza. Owen Paterson codriving for Alan Kirkcaldy in the Ford Fiesta R5 had lead the event, but dropped to finish 5th after a mechanical issue on the penultimate stage. Roscoe West, co-driving for Cameron Williamson in a Subaru Impreza, finished 53rd.
In the Junior Rally for 14-17year olds, George Myatt was back out with Ollie Forrester in the Nissan Micra where they finished 8th in the Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge, with Alan Edwards and driver Alfie Letham finishing 12th in their similar Micra.
Malton Forest Rally (6th November): this was another popular event in Yorkshire, with an entry of 104 to tackle the classic stages in Langdale, Gale Rigg and Cropton. However, first time out in their Skoda Fabia R5 didn’t end as they’d hoped for Drew Sturrock and driver Hugh Brunton, when they rolled on SS4 while lying in 4th Overall.
Show-Me Rally (4th & 5th November): Welshman Jamie Edwards travelled to Potosi, Missouri to contest the Show-Me Rally with American Will Hudson. They finished first Overall in their Ford Fiesta Rally2, winning by a whopping 7minutes 4 seconds.
Pentraeth Glyn Memorial Junior Stages (19th & 20th November): the final event in the Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge took place at Ty Croes on Anglesey in North Wales, and was a combined event with the English/Welsh J1000 series. Alan Edwards and driver Alfie Letham finished 12th Overall after two days covering over 70 miles.
Cadwell Park Stages (20th November): the Lincolnshire circuit venue was the location for the 2nd round of the 2022/2023 Circuit Rally Championship. Andy Scott and Laura Connell finished 2nd Overall in the Ford Fiesta S2000T, after nabbing the runner-up spot by 3 seconds with a great run on the final stage where they took 6seconds form their rival.
Winter Stages Rally at Croft (27th November): formerly the ‘Christmas Stages’ and the ‘Jack Frost’, rallying is now back at Croft Circuit and the two events have merged to form the Winter Stages. Joe McKeand and Charlotte McDowall finished 9th in the Subaru Impreza. The Hastings didn’t have so much luck with Lee & son Cole retiring the Subaru Impreza after just 2 of the 8 tests with an electrical issue.
Well done, everyone!
