Solway Car Club Championship and Scoring sytem


     CLASSES FOR AUTOTESTS & PCT

  • Class One         Engine over driven wheels               up to 1400cc
  • Class Two            "         "        "          “                    over   1400cc
  • Class Three      Front engine rear wheel drive           up to 1400cc
  • Class Four           "        "        "       "        “               over  1400cc

LIMITED SLIP DIFFS :  Run in appropriate class subject to a penalty of 5%

UR WHEEL DRIVE : Run in appropriate class subject to a penalty of  5%

FOUR WHEEL DRIVE & LIMITED SLIP DIFFS:
Run in appropriate class subject to a penalty of 10%

FORCED INDUCTION : As per blue book - cubic capacity x factor of 1.7


12 CAR RALLIES  CLASSES

  • Expert: You're on your own!
  • Semi Expert  Half of the event controls map references given 
  • Novice    All control map references given, an organiser can also give semi expert & Novices easier or help with clues



POINTS SCORING:

In classes points will be awarded on the basis of 10 points for 1st ; 9 for second 8 for third ; and so on down to 1 point for 10th.  Classes will not be amalgamated and there must be at least two in a class before an award will be awarded. In Autotests an extra point will be awarded for the overall winner of the event  regardless of class entered , this point will only count on the Autotest Championships not the overall championship

On 12 car rallies a semi expert class competitors will score 9 for 1st 8 for 2nd down to 1 for 9th in the overall championship

On 12 car rallies a novice class competitors will score 8 for 1st 7 for 2nd down to 1 for 7th In the overall championship

A. GRASS AUTOTEST CHAMPIONSHIP: One score to be dropped (i.e. if 9 events are run   - 8 to count ) if 5 or less events run all to count.

B. TAR AUTOTEST CHAMPIONSHIP: One score to be dropped (i.e. if 5 run 4 to count) if 2 or less run - all to count.

C.12 CAR RALLY DRIVER CHAMP  :  One score to be dropped (i.e. if 6 run 5 to count )if two or less run - all to countD.12 CAR RALLY NAVIGATOR CHAMP: One score to be dropped (i.e. if 6 run 5 to count) if 2 or less run - all to count

E. PROD. CAR TRAIL CHAMPION: One score to be dropped (i.e. 4 run 3 to count) if 2 or less run  - all to count

NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP : Separate Class - All novices’ score points on the basis of 10 for 1st  9 for 2nd etc. Scoring towards overall championship as normal class places

LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP : Separate Class  - All ladies score points on the basis of 10 for 1st , 9 for 2nd etc. Scoring towards overall championship as normal class places

OVERALL CHAMPION : Person who accumulates the highest score from

A , B , C , D and E , Subject to dropping scores as previously stated


NOVICE DEFINITIONS

AUTOTEST :To be eligible a competitor must not have competed in more than 3 autotests in any one season

RALLIES : Competitors can opt to run as novice as long as they like . A competitor who wins the novice 12-car championship can still opt to run as a novice in following years but will not be eligible for an award or score points in the novice 12 car championship or the novice championship

Semi Expert
Competitors can opt to run as a semi expert as long as they like . A competitor who wins the semi expert 12 car championship can still opt to run as a semi expert  in following years but will not be eligible for an award or score points in the semi expert 12 car championship A semi expert navigator who has won a semi expert award cannot score points in the overall championship  if he or she competes in the novice class

Rally experts
Any Navigator that has won an expert award in 12 car rallies cannot  score points in the 12 car championship or the overall championship if he or she competes in the semi expert or novice class Drivers however could come down a class if he or she wanted to navigate Eg a driver who has won an expert award could navigate in novice or semi expert championships. As could a semi expert award winning driver in the novice championship .

MINIMUM AGES

Autotests 
Normal Autotest 16 (and anyone with out a full driving licence ) car must be a saloon max. capacity of 1400 cc ( see blue book F 9 )

Production car Autotests 14 with a passenger who has a licence and autotesting experience . Car must be a saloon max. capacity of 1600 cc .

Parental / Guardian liabilities
Parents , guardians or guarantors of drivers under 18 are now required to sign on at the start of events to enable their child to participate
Note where a Parent/Guardian/Guarantor is not present there must be a representative who must produce a written and signed authorisation to so act from the Parent/Guardian/Guarantor as appropriate (B9,4.2 (c) )
