A good turn out of members and friends arrived for a new event on the Solway car club calendar. A Pit stop competition. Richard Dicksons workshop at New Abbey was the venue for this fine event. Five teams of four set about changing four wheels and front and back brake pads on a rally Subaru also they had to change the spark plugs on a Peugeot 205 all against the clock. The teams were drawn from two hats, experts and non experts so to make the teams as even as possible . All enjoyed a good competitive fun event followed by a hog roast and burgers washed down with a drink or two. DVD's of club events were running as the evening went along. Later A charity challenge was set and two teams of so called experts were drawn for the same tasks again. This was a very close tussle with team two just winning by 22sec. A total of £160 was raised on the night for this years chosen charity the Macmillan Cancer Support. A big thanks to Richard & Nancy for hosting this event and laying on the vehicles & tools etc. Isobel Riddick for helping with food and Sanny Dobie & Donald Graham for helping with organising, time keeping and taking photos.
