Novice, Semi-Expert & Expert Definitions

Novice (Autotest)
To be eligible a competitor must not have competed as a solo entry in more than three autotests in any one season.

Novice (12 Car Rally)
Competitors can opt to run as Novice for as long as they like . A competitor who wins the Novice 12 Car Rally Championship can still opt to run as a Novice in the following years, but will not be eligible for an award or eligible to score points in the Novice 12 Car Rally Championship or the Novice Championship. 

To be eligible for championship awards, at least two events must have been undertaken in the season.

Semi Expert (12 Car Rally)
Competitors can opt to run as a Semi-Expert for as long as they like. A competitor who wins the Semi-Expert 12 Car Rally Championship can still opt to run as a Semi-Expert in the following years, but will not be eligible for an award or score points in the Semi-Expert 12 Car Rally Championship.

A Semi-Expert Navigator who has won a Semi-Expert award cannot score points in the Overall Championship if he or she competes in the Novice class. Drivers, however, could change if he or she wanted to navigate i.e. a driver who has won the Semi-Expert Championship could navigate in Novice or Semi-Expert Championships.

Expert (12 Car Rally)
Any Navigator that has won the Expert Championship in 12 Car Rallies cannot score points in the 12 Car Rally Championship or the Overall Championship if he or she competes in the Semi-Expert or Novice class.

Drivers, however, can come down a class if he or she wanted to navigate i.e. a Driver who has won the Expert Championship could navigate in Novice or Semi-Expert Championships, and a Driver who has won the Semi-Expert Championship could navigate in the Novice or Semi-Expert Championships.

To be eligible for championship award at least 2 events must have been undertaken in the season.

Note: The order of classification of 12 Car Rally results for points in the Overall Championship is: all Experts in order of classification, then all Semi-Experts in order of classification, then finally all Novices in order of classification.
